Growth across the UK tness market is unevenly distributed, with clear regional differences in both expansion and contraction. While most regions have experienced net growth, the scale of change varies signicantly, underlining the importance of local market dynamics. London delivers the largest net increase in sites, reecting strong underlying demand and continued investment from operators targeting high-density, high-value catchments. The South West and South East also show strong expansion, supported by large
populations and attractive regional markets. Elsewhere, growth is more moderate and widely distributed, with several regions recording steady but less pronounced increases. At the same time, a small number of areas show more constrained conditions, with growth limited or, in some cases, negative, reecting more mature or locally challenged markets. This variation reinforces the importance of location- specic strategy. Growth is increasingly concentrated in areas where demand, density and commercial viability align, rather than being evenly distributed across the UK.
