Regional differences in supply and demand reveal a more complex picture than site growth alone. While some regions continue to expand their estate, the relationship between site numbers and demand varies signicantly, highlighting critical differences in capacity utilisation and evolving market maturity across the UK. London stands apart, combining the highest levels of membership with a comparatively constrained number of sites. This results in signicantly higher members per gym, indicating sustained pressure on capacity and strong underlying demand. The North West and South East form a clear second tier, while other regions show progressively lower levels of utilisation, suggesting a more balanced alignment between supply and demand.

The relationship between total members and market value reinforces these dynamics. Regions with larger member bases generate correspondingly higher market value, with London and the South East accounting for a signicant share of overall market activity. This reects the concentration of demand in a small number of high-density regions rather than a divergence in pricing or performance. Taken together, these patterns suggest that access is not evenly aligned with demand. In some areas, capacity constraints may limit further growth, while in others there remains headroom to expand participation. For operators, this reinforces the importance of targeting regions where both demand and scale support sustainable performance.
