2022BATHROOMTRENDS

S ONAS Bathrooms - the largest supplier of bathroom products in Ireland - saw a significant increase in bathroom renovations over the course of 2021, and also observed a notable change in how homeowners perceive their bathrooms. With that in mind, the company’s MD, Richard Sloan has highlighted his top four predictions for bathroom design in 2022. “With people continuing to spend more time at home, many are reviewing how their homes are working and making changes,” Richard explained. “Larger en-suites are being added, as increased demand for free-standing baths, larger showers, and gold finishes all indicate a greater level of investment in creating a space for well-being and relaxation. However, 89% of us still have at least one bath in our homes and the interest in freestanding baths and whirlpool baths continue to rise. In 2021, SONAS Bathrooms noted a 230% increase in searches for baths on its website, with people looking for whirlpool and extra deep baths. The firm expects this trend to continue into 2022. COLOUR WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE IN VANITY UNITS The 59% surveyed in the 2021 SONAS Big Bathroom Survey who said that they didn’t have enough storage space in their bathrooms will not be disappointed by the new range of colours in the best- selling Scandinavian furniture range, which includes vanity units, bath panels and universal wall columns. Five new colours additions for 2022 include Cashmere pink, Morning Sky Blue, Wreath Green and White Matt - expanding
