Clarence-Rockland councillors approved a motion at the April 17 meeting that will provide the public library with consistent funding over the next two years. The combined funding for the next two years will be just over $2.4 million. The motion, presented by Coun. Trevor Stewart and seconded by Coun. Samuel Car- darelli, was presented at the March 20 council meeting with councillors discussing the issue at its April meeting. The City of Clarence-Rockland will now commit to funding the public library with$1,226,856 in both its 2025 and 2026 budgets. The City has already committed $1.2 million in support of the library in the 2024 budget. “I am very satisfied with the motion we passed,” said Stewart.
