We are ambitious. For ourselves, our students and our partners. We are highly motivated and have an appetite for change. We move at pace, set the pace, are thought leaders, and try to define what the University of the future should be. 1. We have the largest community of creative writing postgraduate students in the UK, with over 80 published poets, novelists and authors of children’s literature among our alumni. The Manchester Fashion Institute is our multidisciplinary partnership, bringing together fashion expertise and talent from across the University, Manchester and the world. 4. We are sector leading for degree apprenticeships, with over 170 students currently studying with us. Our ambition is to grow this number tenfold. 5. We are a world leader in graphene electrochemistry, its applications and the manufacture of graphene itself. 6. The Manchester Movement Unit provides affordable physiotherapy, acupuncture and massage treatments to the public, staff and sports scholars. 7. The Manchester School of Architecture is ranked 6th in the world in the QS rankings 2017. 8 . We are leading on the new International Screen School along with Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle. 9 . Metropolis is a high-profile, research-led think tank, designed to bridge the gap between world-leading research and policy makers.
