PATIENT OF THE MONTH

MEET MELISSA BROWN!

Introducing our first patient of the month, Melissa Brown! Melissa first came to Orthopedic and Balance Therapy Specialists for physical therapy 10 years ago for back pain! She has been a committed patient with us from the start and throughout her multiple back surgeries. “My experience has always been pleasant and I feel that everyone does what they can to help me.” After finishing physical therapy post op from her first back surgery, Melissa felt her range of motion increase greatly. Her doctors to this day are still impressed with the range of motion she regained after surgery. Melissa was in a lot of pain dealing with her back issues. Melissa received laser therapy combined with physical therapy to treat the nerve pain she was experiencing. She saw remarkable results! She used a cane and was

not able to walk more than a block without the pain in her legs. At times, the pain limited Melissa from playing with her grandkids. Her therapy is working very well for her and now she only uses the cane for stability. She is looking forward to pain free days with her family! Melissa explained that she enjoys her exercises and the one on one time she receives in the balance machine. “The gym PTA’s and Tech’s do an excellent job in the gym helping.” Melissa has chosen Lupus Foundation of America as her charity. She has firsthand experiences with Lupus affecting her joints, which has pushed her to continuing with physical therapy. We are excited to donate $100 to Lupus Foundation of America in her name!
