The Boyd Co., an internation- ally recognized site location firm, recently compared cities across the country to North- eastern PA. The Boyd studies show that Northeastern PA has the lowest food and plastics manufacturing costs among those surveyed. Both studies looked at com- parative annual operating costs which included site acquisi- tion and construction, taxes, utilities, and labor. Locations studied included metro areas in New England, NY and NJ, Baltimore, and several areas within PA. “These studies reaffirmwhat we have been saying for years. Companies that are looking to grow their business on the East Coast should be looking at all that our region has to offer,” said John Augustine , presi- dent/CEO of Penn’s North- east (PNE). PNE plans to distribute the report to hundreds of compa- nies in the food and plastic sectors as well as to commercial real estate brokers and na- tional site location consultants. Penn’s Northeast serves as the single point of contact to assist brokers, site selectors and companies with all of their location needs. PNE provides real estate (land & building) op- tions, workforce and employee recruitment, financial incen- tives, and additional assistance as needed. n
