THE

Wild! Jungle Masks

PARENTS START TOPIC The EYFS children were very excited to invite their parents/ carers to our ‘Let's Do It Day’ where we made jungle masks. Everyone got messy and creative to produce some inspiring and colourful animal masks. This was a very enjoyable way to start our topic 'In the Wild'. Thank you to all who came to work alongside their child, we all had lots of fun.

Thanks to Miss Harwood for the story.

STOP-DROP-ROLL

The Fire Service staff came to Abbey Junior School to teach Year 4 children about fire safety. Children learnt how fast a fire can spread, steps they can take to minimise risks, how to make an emergency call and learnt how to do the STOP- DROP-ROLL. Children completed a range of activities through discussion which included sequencing events, deciding where fire alarms should go, knowing the importance of escape routes, car safety and road safety. Children were also given the opportunity to ask Fire Service Staff questions about their careers. All children were thrilled to see the fire engines in school and were excited to take part in this event, as it was part of their Life Skills.

Thanks to Mila in 4S for helping to write this story.
