LUNAR NEW YEAR Last week Nursery were learning about Chinese New Year. They found out that this year is the Year of the Rabbit. They heard the story of how the years became named after the animals, found out how people celebrate, made dragons, practised mark making numbers and used their pincer grips to decorate a dragon. All the children also chopped peppers and mushrooms to help make a stir fry which was cooked by the adults. Many of the children held their knives correctly in one hand. The children also tasted their stir fry and some of them enjoyed it so much they had second helpings! Great job Nursery.

FOOTBALL COMPETITION
On Wednesday 25 th January a group of Yr5/6 girls travelled to Gospel Oak Academy to participate in a girl's football competition. Gospel Oak Academy's young leaders helped to run the event with support from their teachers, the local School Games organiser and The Albion Foundation. The Abbey team really enjoyed their morning. They played 8 games in total and after a slow start, they really improved and started scoring goals and winning games! A fantastic experience! Well done girls!
