PORTALS TO THE PAST Last week, Year 5 was treated to an immersion day to kick off their History topic of The Egyptians. The best part of the day was when the presenter showed us how the Egyptians mummified people. She cracked through through the ribs and took out the organs. Did you know that the brain was taken out and fed to the dogs? Egyptian Day was amazing but we wanted it to go on longer! We would have liked to work with the lady more, Dr. Worrall. We would like to have spent time holding real mummified artefacts such as canopic jars and other Egyptian objects. Amazing facts part 1- We learnt that the Egyptians would worship the onion! Once you chopped it in half the Egyptians would think it was the Universe. Egyptian fact 2 - The stepped pyramid was the first built and the sun God was Ra.
Trip Advisor score? 10/10 because we got to learn about Egyptians, mummies and gods!
