Kulturni restart u „Albertini“ Cultural reboot at the Albertina

S eptember in Vienna marks the start of the most important period in the city’s culture cal- endar. The Habsburg capital is entering a new artistic season, and the focus this autumn is on the famous Albertina Museum, where a major exhibition entitled “Picasso – Bacon: What It Feels Like to Be Human“ opens on 18 th September, dedicated to the figurative dialogue of two giants of modern art, Pablo Picasso and Francis Bacon. This exhibition explores the ways these two artists re- defined depictions of the human figure, suffering and myth in the 20 th century. Also continuing throughout Septem- ber is the jubilee exhibition marking the 250 th anniversa- ry of the Albertina’s existence, gathering together the most important works from its rich collection in one place, in- cluding works by Dürer, Klimt and Schiele. Apart from the visual arts, 1 st September also marks the start of a new sea- son at the Vienna State Opera, with performances of clas- sics by Verdi and Mozart. For visitors spending a weekend in Vienna, this city of- fers the perfect combination of high art and a specific life- style. Representing an indispensable part of this experience is Viennese wine tavern culture, which is under UNESCO protection. Whether you choose the historic Café Central, Sperl or the more modern concepts of the Museums Quar- tier, taking a long coffee break and analysing impressions from the exhibition has the status of a ritual here. Vienna is a city that preserves its own history with deep respect, while at the same time boldly and uncompromisingly dic- tating contemporary European cultural trends.

štovanjem čuva sopstvenu isto- riju, ali istovre- meno hrabro i bez kompromisa diktira savreme- ne evropske kul- turne trendove.
