Elevate September 2026 | Air Serbia

T he world of remote work has long since outgrown improvised desks in corner cafes and the eternal search for a stable Wi-Fi connection. What started out as a necessity has today evolved into a global phenomenon that success- fully combines high corporate professionalism and the finest tourist hedonism. Working from a place where the sun sets over the sea is no longer a privilege enjoyed by a few freelancers – it has become the standard of modern business, and luxury destinations around the world are com- peting to offer better and more beautiful sur- roundings for your working morning. While employees used to wait for strictly de- fined days off work to pack their bags, recent- ly we’ve been witnessing a trend that is chang- ing the rules of the game. “Quiet holidaying”, or “hush trips”, is a phenomenon whereby profes- sionals continue to perform their work duties flawlessly, answering emails within minutes and attending all meetings, but with one small twist: their office for the day is located on a sunny coast. The only technological magic they need is a blurred or neutral background for video call- ing apps. This trend isn’t about slacking off; on the contrary, statistics show that changing one’s environment greatly increases productivity. Im- agine enjoying your first morning coffee and do- ing market analysis to the sound of crashing waves, and using your lunch break to take a swim. This is the ultimate balance that today’s work- ers are seeking. The tourism industry has responded to the growth of this trend with lightning speed. Five- star hotels no longer offer only spa centres and top gastronomy; they have transformed into sophisticated Work-from-Hotel hubs. Some of the most popular seaside destinations have even gone a step further by creating specialised luxu- ry villages for digital nomads that offer a unique mix of privacy and networking with people from the same industry. If you are currently leafing through your copy of Elevate at an altitude of thirty thousand feet and thinking about where you could move your laptop, we have a great suggestion! Air Serbia is launching direct flights to Tenerife as of 15 th September, opening the door to the European capital of remote work. The Canary Islands have developed official programmes and special tax incentives for “remote” workers. Tenerife offers an entire eco system created specifically for this trend: from luxury villas converted into co-living spaces in the north of the island, to fibreoptic internet and work desks set up literally on the black volcanic sand of the beaches of the south Enjoy your work!

SLOBODA JE U VAZDUHU / FREEDOM IS IN THE AIR Kancelarija sa pogledom na more Office with a view of the sea Od „tihog odmora“ do luksuznih morskih komuna, ili kako je rad na daljinu dobio novu, hedonističku formu From “quiet holidays” to luxurious coastal communes, or how remote work has gained a new, hedonistic form
