sustained drive, passion, and a strong product like Wiley will garner a sustained reoccurrence for the aforementioned trend to remain the same. In reflecting on how Kappa Alpha Psi prepared him for life challenges , Dr. Felton stated “Kappa Alpha Psi and the challenges we face in the fraternity are microcosmic of the world we live in. We grapple with loss of life, which builds empathy. As undergraduate members we face challenges associated with conflicts. In the administration of our education and negotiating the delicate balance of

advocating for our rights while bringing no harm to our institutions we are taught the invaluable skill of diplomacy while indoctrinating one into the political process. From day one, the notion of service is ingrained without knowledge to all those who desire entrance into the noble clan. Our founders and history demonstrate service above self through deeds and has been perpetuated by hundreds of thousands who possess a vital cog in the wheel of success, the service to mankind. We have led and continue to lead in every field of human endeavor and a central and

reoccurring attribute in all those great men is an infinite understanding of our inherent/inherited obligation to serve and give back while we climb. In relating how Kappa Alpha Psi shaped his educational pursuits, ethos and values as a leader, he stated, “Entering Edward Waters College as an eight year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, identifying leadership and understanding core values (ethos) were a strong suit for me. What was painstakingly ambassadorship at Edward Waters. It was very clear an expectation of excellence was the standard. Perhaps more telling was the way in which Delta Psi Nupes led and the positions they held. A natural gravitation to strong leadership led me to align my collegiate resume with the strong legacy of leadership by brothers of Delta Psi. I started as a senator in the Student Government Association and held a variety of positions in leadership before ultimately being elected President of the Student Government Association. The phrase, “To achieve in every field of human endeavor” is more than a mantra, it resonates in a way to me that makes it tangible. It’s so pervasive and consistent with members of this noble clan I, quite frankly, could obvious was the Delta Psi Chapter’s strong hold on leadership and

not depart from the exercise of “achievement of the first” if I wanted to. Regardless of the province or region, my professional career has been replete with brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi who boldly display attributes associated with service and demonstrate through “manly deeds and fidelity” their commitment and service to our God, our country, and to others.
