PMMI Whitepaper Sheds Light On Impact of Global, Local Standards PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Tech- nologies, announced the release of a whitepaper, “The Im- pact of Global and Local Standards on OEMs & Suppliers.” The paper explores the challenges and opportunities that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers and industry stakeholders face in the rapidly evolving land- scape of global and local standards. Jorge Izquierdo, Vice President of Market Develop- ment, PMMI, said the whitepaper sheds light on navigating these standards, clarifying the difference between stan- dards and regulations, and collaborating to improve safe- ty, efficiency, and reliability of packaging operations. The whitepaper references ANSI/PMMI B155.1 — Safety Requirements for Packaging and Processing Machinery, a key standard for the industry that is currently under revi- sion. The revised standard is set to be released by stan- dards developer PMMI later this summer.
