PA’ s P rojects & B uilding S ervices Commitment, accountability, and responsibility inHabit – architects in the habit of creating good design

ased in Philadelphia, PA, inHabit, LLC , is a woman-owned archi- tecture and design practice that brings fresh perspective, creative energy, and a sense of collaboration to its projects for commercial, education, hospitality, and residential cli- ents. Partners Jackie Gusic and Tina Geary are actively involved in all phases of work, from initial concepts through final construction oversight. “Our personal involvement equals personal commitment, accountability, and responsi- bility,” said Gusic. “We’re ap- proachable, available, and we B

like to keep our clients happy.” Since inHabit began in 2006, the firm has built a portfolio of happy clients, including SAP America and Hill Interna- tional. inHabit currently pro- vides outsourced design and project management for SAP’s Newtown Square, PA, location through Hill International. The arrangement enables a high degree of personal atten- tion and inHabit brings a so- phisticated level of commercial interior design creativity that balances comfort, efficiency, and aesthetics. Over $1.2 million of recent inHabit-designed projects at SAP have included com- prehensive renovation of the executive office suite, creation of a new training center within formerly underutilized space, and design of an electric ve- hicle charging station. “Workplace designs should bridge the needs of manage- ment, staff, and customers,” explains Geary. “We think any space should balance fiscal responsibility with design that boosts productivity, inspires, and energizes.” inHabit recently designed a tenant fit-out for WebEyeCare in Bristol, PA. To support the discount contact lens retailer’s online operations, inHabit created a new call center with interesting design details. A wood and glass storefront divides the private offices and conference room from the open work area, while maintaining a visual connection and let- ting natural light permeate the space. inHabit’s creativity and fis- cal responsibility have attract- ed the attention of startups and tech companies, including the founder of NextFab, Phila- delphia’s “gym for innovators.” The high-tech workshop and prototyping center for creative professionals includes over 300 members. inHabit trans- formed the space from a ware- house into a thriving business center with workshops, offices, conference areas, and a café. In addition to corporate and commercial projects, the in- Habit team design spaces for retail and hospitality clients. Gusic and Geary say their continued on page 14C
