Although the ‘likely’ staging dates for employers with over 250 or more persons in a PAYE scheme are unaffected, the smallest employers (less than 50 persons) will now not reach their staging date until June 2015 at the earliest. The individual staging dates of employers within these time bands will be confirmed later in 2012 providing further clarity for employers to prepare for automatic enrolment. The publication of these regulations follows the recent Ministerial statement of the new timetable for the automatic enrolment of all employers. Visit The Pension Regulator’s website to view the likely staging date or time band for your largest PAYE scheme. 10 February 2012 In last week’s News we reported that amendments to the regulations governing automatic enrolment had been published following the government’s response to the workplace pension reform consultation on completing the legislative framework. However, due to an administrative error, the versions that were laid before Parliament on Wednesday 1 February had to be withdrawn and were re-laid before Parliament on 7 February. Further information: All relevant regulations, explanatory memos, impact assessments and technical guidance can be found on DWP's website REVISED AUTOMATIC ENROLMENT REGULATIONS PUBLISHED 13 February 2012 DWP’s communication campaign for automatic enrolment is now underway.
