“Well, MRS. McCLUSKY has certainly put it down in BLACK AND WHITE! I consider it decidedly the finest thing she has done. A magnificent book! So practical and so simple, yet so profound! And the scope, as usual, is the range o f the entire Word o f God, though she gives 40 studies in Exodus in a way that it has never been done before. She certainly knows how to appeal to young people . . . I’m going to use her books as gifts.” Order your copy from your dealer, or THE M IRACLE BOOK CLUB 1423 Bissel Ave., Richmond, Calif. “ Black and White,** 324 pages; paper, $1.25; cloth, $2.00. “ Supplied!** 224 pages; paper, $1.00. “ Torch and Sword,** 150 pages; 75 cents. “ Darda,** a story you*ll love! 75 cents. FEBRUARY 1 Love Maintained “ W e love him, because he first loved us" (1 John 4:19). Nothing is more important than that this impulse of love should be safeguarded and secured. Its fire must be continually fed by the fuel of fresh knowledge of the Lord. It cannot be maintained on the mere mem ory of a past experience. Indeed, this is; the tragedy of many a Christian life— that its enthusiasm for Christ has burnt itself out. Nor is the reason far to seek; for it is only those who grow in His knowledge who increase also in His grace and love. Study o f His Word, therefore, and the close fellowship of obedience also, are entirely necessary if blood heat is to be maintained. — J. S tuart H oldbn . “And, behold, there as a great earth quake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it’ (Matt. 28:2). The secret resurrection of Jesus Christ within us is bound to be proclaimed out wardly by the evidence of the shattered seals. And when these seals are broken the results are glorious. There is liberty for us, because the fetter is no more. There is prayer in us, because the bird has expanded her wings. There is witness from us, since our closed lips have been broken open. There is love and generosity and sacrifice, now that our miserly fingers have been wrenched apart. With new courage and abounding joy we face life again, for the useless harp and the paralyzing fear have both alike been cast away. There is a new song in our mouths.—W . D. J a c k so n . FEBRUARY 3 The Overflow o f His Goodness “ Who giveth us richly all things to en joy’’ (1 Tim . 6:17). This word should smite down all anxiety. What would you think of a millionaire who in the midst of his wealth was despair ing of sustenance, and dreading death in the poorhouse? And what do the angels think of you, if, with all the mercy and every blessing of God crowding around your life, you doubt, and despond, and de spair of care and love and provision? —J. B. F iggis . While the “ dew of heaven” should ever come before the “fatness o f the earth,” the latter also is promised.— C. P. W atson . FEBRUARY 4 Abundantly Able “Lead me to the rock that is higher than l " (Psa. 61:2). "Now unto him that is able to do ex ceeding abundantly above all that we ask FEBRUARY 2 Broken Seals

or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Eph. 3:20). There are no situations in human life where we may not be sure of the abundant provision of God. There are no needs of the soul which He cannot meet, and meet handsomely. This is a large claim to make, but it may be made with fullest confidence. It is supported by the explicit teaching of Holy Scripture, and by the equally explicit testimony of Christian experience. God is faithful to perform that which He has promised. He is able to supply our every need, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.— Life of Faith. “ God forbid that 1 should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” (Gal. 6:14). A true believer has nothing to glory in but Christ alone. Even in his very best performances he will often be deeply humbled, and cry out, “ Lord, enter not into judgment.” And well he may; for the ground of our glory, comfort, and salvation is not in works, but in Christ, and the free grace of God who, for His Son’s sake, lays nothing to our charge, but daily covers and richly pardons all our iniquities. Thus be lievers, walking steadily, may always be kept in solid peace, for the cross of Christ is a solid and unshaken foundation. —Golden Treasury. FEBRUARY S Our Ground o f Glory

FEBRUARY 6 Clothed in His Righteousness

“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof" (Rom. 13:14). As you gird yourself for the day, putting articles of clothing upon your person, re member that God supplies you with vesture clean and white, with the meekness and
