Marissa Klein - HS Admissions Counseling Coordinator 8th Grade English Teacher In 2024, the long-awaited eighth-grade Seattle trip finally came to fruition, and it was worth the wait! In May, the entire eighth-grade class, along with five teacher chaperones, flew to Seattle for a four-day adventure exploring the city’s sights and focusing on STEAM learning. We learned about aviation and engineering by touring the Boeing Factory and the Museum of Flight. We explored science and entertainment at the Pacific Science Center and the Museum of Pop Culture. We hiked on Bainbridge Island, went on a historical ghost tour, and enjoyed visiting the Space Needle, zoo, and aquarium. It was an action-packed, busy trip! The students even survived four days without their phones, allowing them to experience a distraction-free, final bonding experience before graduation. We plan to repeat the Seattle trip in 2025, and we are excited to have developed a trip that is true to the goals of Alta Vista’s mission.
