TAX AGENTS AND ADVISERS – EXTERNAL EMAIL PILOT

11 July 2012

In March 2012, following feedback from agents and in consultation with the representative bodies, HMRC launched an external email pilot.

Early findings up to 15 June are that:

 136 agents returned their consent forms and have been given the email address to send queries to HMRC  46 agents sent 150 queries by email

Thanks to those who are already using the email facility, the pilot has been extended to 31 December 2012.

Early feedback indicates that many of you have found the email pilot useful, and suggestions have been made as to how it could be improved. This is great news and HMRC will continue to discuss these ideas with your representative bodies to agree what changes can be implemented. HMRC is also considering if the scope of subjects covered by the pilot can be increased.
