following notice being given to the non-resident parent. This will happen as a result of the case being moved onto the new computer system.

It is proposed that the Regulations will come into effect at the time the new child maintenance scheme goes live, which is intended to be from late 2012. The Regulations will impact new scheme cases, and a number of cases under the existing statutory schemes (as described above).

The policy team will be reviewing this consultation and will publish a survey shortly if deemed necessary.

The consultation was published on 20 April 2012 and will close on 1 June 2012.

The Policy team have published a survey to enable the team to respond to the consultation document published a couple of weeks ago. As a reminder the consultation concerns the draft regulations which make changes to the way Deduction from Earnings Orders (DEOs), made by the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (the Commission), are administered by employers. The team would appreciate you sparing 5 minutes of your time to respond to the survey . Due to the tight deadline of this consultation which is only 6 weeks instead of the usual 12 the closing date for responses will be close of play on 28 May 2012.

Early in May the Policy team published a survey to enable us to respond to the consultation on changes to the way Deduction from Earnings Orders (DEOs) are made by the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission, and the way in which they are administered by employers.

Back in July 2011 we reported that a new Child Maintenance Service is to be introduced in 2012. News on this front has been a little quiet over the last few months which may have concerned some as October 2012 was the date given for implementation. However, although this date still stands, you do not need to do anything differently until The Child Maintenance Service contact you. The new scheme will be operating alongside the exisitng CSA schemes, so there will be no sudden end to the processes that exist now. There are three key areas that are changing which will make administration easier for employers.
