Between the 650m and the 550m became very awkward in its action when placed to the inside of another runner, shifted out abruptly onto another runner, despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 500m when being corrected shifted in onto another runner, which was obliged to be checked and lost ground. He said when walking the track he formed the view that the ground closest to rail was inferior & where he made his run was similar in nature to the going out wider. He added his decision to impr to the inside was influenced also by the fact mount was not trav strongly. He said in the str mount took some time to respond & in his opinion geld would be better suited over further distance. Rosehill Gardens 19/02/2022 COT: To be ridden more forward; settled on pace. Near the 900m had to be eased from heels. Rdr reported that mnt travelled well in the early stages, however, put in an awkward stride near the 700m and as a result did not travel entirely comfortably thereafter. He added that after placing his mnt under pressure on entering the straight, the gelding failed to respond to his riding and was only one paced. A post- race vet exam rev no abs. Canterbury Park 11/02/2022 Slow to begin. On entering home straight was disappointed for a run. Shortly after had to be steadied after improving onto heels, before shifting out abruptly near 150m to obtain clear running. Gosford 14/01/2022 Commenced to give ground passing the 300m. When questioned, rider reported that he had intended to settle midfield from the wide barrier. After beginning fairly he was able to find a position through the early and middle stages and passing the 800m he elected not to shift out to take a position three-wide position as he felt it was too early to do so. He added that shortly after this, another runner made ground to his outside which resulted in him then being unable to shift out at the top of the straight.
