Coy- otes hockey is growing and is now a force to be reckoned with.”

The Coyotes at the house league Atom division of the Russell and District Girls’ Hockey Association, are tied for second place with 17 points, along with two other teams, Outaouais and Perth, out of eight teams in their division. Carleton Place cur- rently leads the division. So far, of 15 games the girls have played, they have had eight wins, six losses and one tie, including a decisive 4-2 victory against the Goulbourn Rockets in Embrun on Satur- day, January 4. The Atom players are the current local house league successes, as Novice and Pee- wee house teams are both at the bottom in their division, and the Bantam house team ranks sixth. Some competitive level teams are enjoy- ing good seasons so far, with the Russell B AtomTier 3 team at the top of their division with 31 points.
