The Spring Meeting at Swinley Forest was won by Chris Underwood (66-73) and the Autumn meeting at The Berkshire by Duncan Anderson (64-71). Our Cyril Gray team played in the scratch over 50s Public Schools competition at Worplesdon and made it to the semifinals for the first time losing to the eventual winners Watsons. Congratulations to David Somerville (63-69), the captain, and the rest of the team. Roger Kelly (81-88) and Simon Anthony (86-91) competed in the Oxford and Cambridge Presidents putter, a scratch competition for blues held only at Rye. Simon was knocked out in the third round and Roger lost in the 5th round to the eventual winner Tom Edridge, as reported in The Daily Telegraph . Our veterans team at Tandridge won the triathlon against Shrewsbury and Tonbridge for the fourth year which means we have held the shield since its inception. Congratulations to Peter Dickinson (57-66) for captaining the victorious team. This year Simon Dyson (59-67) was elected Captain at Royal Wimbledon, a special honour in their 125th year, and we wish him all the best in the forthcoming year. We finished our year with our Christmas meeting and lunch at Wildernesse Golf Club in Sevenoaks. Next year we will hold our AGM there and you are welcome to join us just for lunch, which is very good. Next year we have added new courses and all are welcome to play at any event but some competitions are restricted to lower handicaps. Our fixture list can be found at www. dulwich.org.uk/OAGS We have also entered the 21st century and have our own Facebook page, and our own app, as well as our web page on the Dulwich College site.

Duncan Anderson (64-71)

We have enjoyed another year of good golf playing on some great courses. This year more than 75 members played in our golf days and matches. We are fortunate to play some of the best courses in the South East at great rates including New Zealand, The Berkshire, Royal Ashdown and Worplesdon. This year we have added Royal Wimbledon and Royal Cinque Ports. Our members enjoyed playing competitive matches against old foes such as Whitgift at Tandridge, Loretto at New Zealand and St Johns at Littlestone; great courses and good competitive handicap golf. If we did not win the match we certainly gave a good account of ourselves at the dinner afterwards. Our year started well with our Annual Dinner in early March at the East India Club hosted by our Captain, Bob Butterfield (58-67). Next year our Captain will be Mark Camp (63-70).

2015 saw the last shoot for one of the longest serving members of the Old Alleynian Shooting Club, Christopher (Kit) Sturges (52-59), who finally hung up his musket after the final match of the season against the Old Albanians in October. Kit joined the OASC in 1960. In those days the AGM was held in the office of Ken Heppenstall (29-34), the Secretary, in Old Street in the City of London. Members then included Alan Brebner*, Roland Morris*, Ron Ingram (42-45) (an international), Derek Clark (42-47), Gay Tuckerman (35-39) and later Alan’s son, Martin (58-65). It was a fairly busy Club at that time and routinely shot twelve or fourteen fixtures a season.
