and travel are most interesting as well as profitable. These, too, serve as an instrument for preaching the Gospel to needy souls. Proper music and proper pictures shown in proper places add to the attractiveness of the Chris tian witness. 4. WE MAY WIN THE SOLDIER BY PREACHING AND BY SINGING. 1 Cor. 1:18. Soldiers, as well as all other peo ple, need to be faithfully warned con cerning the righteous judgment of God, and to be told of His wonderful offer of mercy. Most people are utterly in the dark. Some have the peace of self-satisfaction and wear religious charms to keep away evil and to pre serve from harm. Others have the peace of ignorance in that they do not know the fate of those who die in their sins. There are also those who have the peace of indifference. They do not care where they will spend eternity, and therefore make no effort to prepare for that long journey. All of these friends need the preach ing of the Word of God and the sing ing of the Gospel songs. The words of the hymn “Drifting” have caused many a heart to turn to the Saviour. The preaching of the precious Gospel as it is found in the story of the good Samaritan, or the prodigal son, or in John 3:16, is still proof of the power of God unto salvation as hearts re spond to the message. There are, however, many thousands of professing Christians and many more thousands of non- Christians who are wandering about with no certain dwelling place. Many of these settled in n e w locations where they found work during the war. All of these people need the same treatment, the same medicine, the same help. Joy and peace come t h r o u g h believing God. Successful living results when the Spirit of God directs the life. We need to contact the restless friends with our Bibles and help them to know the Lord better, and help the unsaved to find Christ that they may obtain eternal life. GOD’S TRUTH. Ex. 33:14. Every life is different. Every life is infected by sin and needs the power of God to emancipate it. We find that in each home there is a different atti tude on the part of the members of the family toward the Lord and a F o r T h o s e W h o H a v e T o p ic s 1. WE MAY HELP BY PRESENTING
