FIRE STATION TRAINING

Smethwick Fire Station has been teaching basic life saving skills - vital skills that could help save someone's life. Callum and Hayden Showell are standing proudly alongside our lollipop lady - ‘Lollipop Lynn' with their heart start certificates. They took part in a course from the British Heart Foundation, delivered by the amazing heroes at Smethwick Fire Station. This course is free and the fire service have a few more dates. It was amazing we enjoyed it! Thanks to Mrs. Showell for the story. [Information can be found here: https:// www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/find-bhf-near-you/ heartstart-west-midlands-fire-service]

BAG IT

Alicia, from Tipton Litter Watch, has made these great doggy poop dispensers. She has recycled an old plastic bottle, making it into a ‘doggy poop bag dispenser’ for local dog owners. The children from the PCSOs helped her to put it up near our school, to encourage the owners of dogs to clean up their dog mess and then pop it into the dog poop bins. Look out for the dispensers and the Banksy style 'clean it up' signs on the pavement that have appeared near our school. How many can you count? Thanks to Mrs. Flanagan for the story.
