PCSO Award! Controlling the streets

EFFORTS REWARDED On Friday 15th March, the school was invited to the Smethwick Community Awards 2019 - honouring the people and organisations that go the ‘extra mi le’ . The school ’s Junior PCSO Programme was a finalist in the ‘Partnership Working Award’ - for working together to make a positive impact on Smethwick. We are delighted that we were runners-up and were presented with a glass trophy to proudly display at the school. Thank you to all the children, parents, staff, and West Midlands Police that make this wonderful programme so effective in our school and community. Please visit the Junior PCSO Page on our class pages, on the school website, to see all of our hard work! Congratulations to all of the finalists that included the ‘Mothership Befriending Playgroup’, run by a group of Abbey parents. Also the winner of the Community Special Award - Karl Blick, who was recognised for life long service to the Smethwick Community. SIGN UP The PCSOs have ordered some great signs and banners, that will help promote our safer parking message and encourage our parents to adopt safer parking habits. These child sized signs have a simple message saying, ‘Don’t park here’. Please look out for them on our safer parking patrol days.

Thanks to Mrs. Flanagan for both of the stories.
