You shall go to the ball! Carriages

AXLES Following the February half term, the children in year 1 were set the challenge of designing and making a moving carriage for Cinderella or her prince. In class, the children had already investigated how to make a moving mechanism, designed how they would like their carriage to look, created templates and our Inspire session proved to be a great finale to this unit of work. A huge well done to the children, their parents and carers who displayed great teamwork, creativity and problem solving skills. The session certainly brought all of the children’s previous learning together and their designs well and truly came to life! Be proud!

Thanks to Mrs. Philips for the story.

JIGS On Monday, Year 2 had a lovely visit from Storyteller Sal. She taught us different songs, which we all joined in with. We were up and down and moving around the classroom, trying to find new partners to sing the song. It was exciting! Sal then read a wonderful story called ‘The Bumba Jig’, where we all listened carefully. We were then able to make our own animal noises for the different characters. Sal even showed us real life peacock feathers! We had a fantastic time and were able to talk about the moral of the story and discuss our emotions.

Thanks to Mr. Hayat for the story.
