THE

Beautiful Bewdley WW2 evacuation

STEAM TRAIN Last week, year 6 went on a trip to the charming, pleasant town of Bewdley. They went to Bewdley museum, where they did wonderful activities, such as : visiting an air- raid shelter (which was real and used in World War 2), trying on authentic gas masks and learning about life in the home front. After that, the guides took the children to the nearby train station where they experienced a ride on an old fashioned steam train. The children had a fantastic time in the quaint little town. Thanks to Angelica and Phoebe in 6J for the story. CHALLENGING EXTREMISM Scarlett is a young member of a fictional minority community, who are being persecuted by a rival group. When her best friend is attacked, she becomes confused and upset. As she wonders what she can do to help her community, she meets someone who persuades her to consider a violent response. Through careful interactive theatre, the children were guided through a process where they created a campaign to challenge extremist ideas and promote social responsibility, tolerance and respect. Ellie-Mae & Jana from 6V said : ‘This interesting theatre group has changed people’s actions and helped us make the right life choices.’
