How to Get Along With People In The Church By A. Donald Bell Everybody will recognize the title of this book as offering a possible con tribution to a real problem. How many pastors and members alike leave churches because they “just couldn’t get along” with someone, or several someones? The author recog nizes the terrible inroad this makes into lay leadership within the church, as well as into the effectiveness of the church’s outward testimony. Tech niques of dealing with specific situa tions are a substantial part of the book, being taken up in such chap ters as “Understanding People,” “Some Direct Approaches,” “Work ing with People in Groups,” and “When Techniques Fail.” “Mass pro duction love” means nothing; love must be personal. Christian love, of course, covers the whole problem, but it must be implemented. There is a bibliography. 159 pages; cloth; Zon- dervan, Grand Rapids, $2.50.

Confidentially, Fellows! By Herbert A. Streeter Confidentially, Girls! By Elizabeth Pistole

These books are twins, in spite of the fact that they have different parents! The front covers are the most attractive of any on teen-agers’ books. The messages are in the language that they understand. Drawings help to carry the interest. But the real secret is that the issues of life as ex perienced by the teenager are all here. The counsel is direct, sympathe tic, and Christian. Guidelines and outlines abound. It would not be a bad idea for both sexes to read both books, and parents too. 96 pages each; paper; Warner Press, Anderson, Ind.; $1.25 each.
