Following the British Ice Skating programme, lessons help skaters build confidence, learn new techniques and progress at their own pace in a fun and supportive environment. Unlimited public skating is included with membership, giving skaters extra time to practise and enjoy the ice.
For many people, a visit to Telford Ice Rink starts with a fun family skate. For six-year-old Seven, it marked the beginning of a journey that continues to build confidence, determination and a lifelong love of the sport. Seven first stepped onto the ice at just two years old after watching her older brother skate. By the age of three and a half, she had started Skate UK lessons at Telford Ice Rink, progressing quickly through the programme before achieving her bronze, silver and gold awards in 2023. Now training most days with coach Jason, Seven has already competed at her first national event. But for her and her family, skating is about far more than medals. Her mum, Eunice, says Telford Ice Rink has become a
place where Seven feels at home, helping her grow not only as a skater but as a confident and determined young person. Whether she’s practising before school or working on new skills during training, Seven’s enthusiasm for being on the ice shines through. Her story reflects what Telford Ice Rink offers skaters of all ages and abilities. From first- time visitors and family sessions to Skate UK lessons and opportunities to develop through regular coaching, the rink provides a welcoming environment where everyone can learn at their own pace and enjoy the benefits of being active. Seven still dreams big, one day she’d love to skate professionally, perhaps even at the Olympics or with Disney on Ice. For now, though, she’s simply enjoying every moment on the ice.
