AFRIKA / AFRICA Beograd u ritmu Afrike Belgrade in the rhythm of Africa
O vog juna Muzej afričke umetnosti ponovo postaje raskršće ritmo- va, boja, mirisa i priča afričkog kontinenta. Uz podršku brojnih afričkih ambasada i konzulata, muzejski prostor prerasta u „Durbar – festival festivala“, živu ma- pu afričkog kontinenta ispunjenu boja- ma, zvucima i mirisima.
B elgrade’s Museum of African Art once again becomes a crossroads of the rhythms, colours, aromas and stories of the African continent this June. The Afro Festival will take place on 20 th and 21 st June and will transform the museum’s garden into one of the city’s liveliest spots, where music, dance, art and gastronomy merge to create a unique festival experi- ence intended for all generations. With the support of numerous African em- bassies and consulates, the space of the museum will host “Durbar – the festival of festivals”, representing a living map of the African continent that’s filled with col- ours, sounds and aromas. The stalls of the festival will offer authentic flavours, hand- icrafts and art objects from different parts of Africa, while spreading throughout the venue will be aromas of spices and coffee, the rhythm of drums and the energy of a gathering that erases boundaries between the audience and performers. This year’s festival programme combines
play, knowledge and creativity: visitors can expect workshops for art and creativi- ty, while they can also learn how to tie Af- rican turbans, paint murals and play tra- ditional Mancala board games, as well as enjoying concerts, dance performances and guided tours through the museum’s perma- nent exhibition and the current exhibition “Recy: Art - Waste as a Resource”.
