Jun June

99 years of tradition

Dear Passengers, June is a month of significant milestones, new destinations and important moments for us. We are particularly proud that, on 17 th June, we commemo- rate the 99 th anniversary of the founding of the Ser- bian national airline. As one of the world’s ten ol- dest airlines that continue to operate, we continue to grow and enhance the travel experience as we approach the company’s centenary. We today fly from a Belgrade that’s a modern and dynamic transport hub to more than 100 desti- nations worldwide. We introduced direct flights to Alicante on 1 st June, thus adding our sixth destinati- on in Spain, alongside Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca. As of September, Te- nerife and Seville will also be added to our network. Moreover, 20 th June marks the return of our flights to Croatia’s Brač, thus further connecting Belgrade to attractive Adriatic destinations. Through our campaign “Sweet Troubles – Whe- re to Fly?”, we inspire you to discover new destinati- ons, with our recommendation for this month being Naples and the Amalfi Coast. A city rich in history, art and cuisine, it is the ideal springboard to explo- re one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful coas- tlines, where the phrase La vita è bella finds its true meaning. We fly to Naples twice a week, on Mon- days and Fridays. Thank you for your trust, and for being together with us as part of this nearly century-long story. Welcome aboard!

99 godina tradicije

Od 1. juna uvodimo direktne letove do grada Ali- kante, naše šeste destinacije u Španiji, uz Ma- drid, Barselonu, Valensiju, Malagu i Palmu de Majorku.

Povodom Međunarodnog dana porodice, Er Srbija je sa zadovoljstvom pokrenula novu inicijativu usmerenu na unapređenje iskustva najmlađih putnika i njihovih roditelja In honour of the International Day of Families, Air Serbia initiated a new initiative dedicated to enhancing the travel experience for its youngest passengers and their parents TOPLA DOBRODOŠLICA NA NEBU / WARM WELCOME IN THE SKIES ER SRBIJA POKLANJA PRVE USPOMENE NAJMLAĐIM PUTNICIMA AIR SERBIA GIFTS MEMORIES TO ITS YOUNGEST PASSENGERS

A s of May 2026, cabin crew aboard all Air Serbia flights are distributing plush teddy bears to infants as a gesture of welcome and care. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to creating a pleasant, stress-free environment for families, particularly during a child’s first flight, which can often be a challenging milestone for parents. Through this symbolic gift, Air Serbia aims to foster a more relaxed atmosphere on board for families and fellow passengers alike, promoting a culture of understanding and empathy. “Air Serbia continues to build a brand rooted in empathy and authentic hospitality. We are placing a special emphasis on families because we recognise that a youngster’s first flight is a significant milestone. Our plush teddy bear is intended to bridge those moments of uncertainty during take-off, and to serve as a lasting memento of their first encounter with the skies. We want parents to feel supported and infants to experience comfort from the moment they board,” said Bojana Knežević, Air Serbia’s Head of Marketing and Guest Experience. This new initiative aligns with Air Serbia’s broader strategy to elevate service standards, strengthen brand loyalty through positive emotional engagement, and develop CSR activities that inspire and contribute to more seamless journeys for all.

U FOKUSU / IN FOCUS

O n that fateful day, at precisely at 8:08am, Captain Davor Mišeljić lifted the Airbus A330 aircraft into the air above Belgrade. It was nine and a half hours later that this flying giant, containing more than 250 passengers, landed at John Fitzgerald Kennedy Airport and thereby officially reopened the direct route between Belgrade and New York after a break of almost a quarter of a century. Carrying the famous name of Nikola Tesla, Air Serbia’s plane was welcomed at the New York airport with a water cannon salute and an electronic billboard greeting that read: “JFK Airport welcomes Air Serbia”. It is no coincidence that the plane used for these transatlantic flights bears the name of this genius scientist, given that Tesla spent a large part of his life in New York, where he created, experimented and forever changed the world of science and technology. Almost a century on, his name once again connects Serbia and America, this time through the skies. Few world cities are as beautiful as New York in June, when the city’s famous Central Park is at its most glorious verdant and rooftop bars and city terraces are full of life. This is the period when the city has that unique energy that’s recognisable from the movies, while the long evenings are filled with street musicians who play late into the night and a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge becomes an experience that you’ll always remember. This is precisely why the anniversary of this flight represents the perfect occasion to rediscover the Big Apple. Since that inaugural flight back in 2016, Air Serbia has remained the only airline in Southeast Europe to offer direct flights to the U.S. And do we need to remind you that, in the meantime, the Serbian flag carrier has also established scheduled flights to Chicago and, as of this May, Toronto? What seemed like a big and bold move a decade ago has gone on to become part of the daily lives of thousands of travellers – from members of the Serbian diaspora and businesspeople, to tourists who travel directly from Belgrade to one of the world’s most exciting cities. And it is there that the greatest significance of Air Serbia’s New York flights lies: it hasn’t only connected two destinations, but also peoples, families and cultures, as well as the idea that Serbia is once again part of the world’s great travel routes.

Avion pod slavnim imenom „Nikola Tesla“ dočekan je 23. juna 2016. na njujorškom aerodromu, čime je Er Srbija vratila dugolinijski saobraćaj u srpsku avijaciju / On 23 rd June 2016, a plane named after the famous Nikola Tesla was welcomed at New York’s JFK Airport, thus marking Air Serbia’s restoration of long-haul traffic to Serbian aviation CELA DECENIJA LETOVA DO VELIKE JABUKE / AN ENTIRE DECADE OF FLIGHTS TO THE BIG APPLE BEOGRAD I NJUJORK SLAVE GODIŠNJICU BELGRADE AND NEW YORK CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY

T og 23. juna 2016. godine, tačno u osam sati i osam minuta, kapetan Davor Mišeljić podigao je u vazduh nad Beogradom „erbas A330“.

Its presen - ce is constant and somewhat dra - matic, but the locals regard it as almost being a friend. An excur - sion to the volcano is among the most popular day trips, due in no small part to the spectacular view of the Bay of Naples. Also located nearby is the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, which was famously buried in ash following the huge eruption of 79 AD. Walking thro - ugh its streets today is a surreal experience, as if they were instan - tly frozen in time some two tho - usand years ago. If you want to experience the best panoramic views of the city, head to the Vomero district. Naples lo - oks completely different from this hilltop neighbourhood: more ele - gant, tranquil and almost cinema - tically beautiful, especially in the period before sunset, with the li - ghts of the city slowly turning on and illuminating the coast. More, plaže i kupanje Iako mnogi Napulj doživljavaju is - ključivo kao urbanu destinaciju, mo - re je važan deo života grada.

Sea, sand and swimming Although Naples is viewed by many as an exclusively urban destinati - on, the sea is an important part of city life. During the warmer mont - hs, the locals flock to the coast, and swimming in the sea is possible even in the city itself, particularly in the Po - sillipo quarter, which is considered one of Naples’ most beautiful distri - cts. Located there are small rocky outcrops, hidden sunbathing plat - forms and views that make it easy to forget that you are in a city of a milli - on inhabitants. The water is pleasan - tly warm during the summer, while the atmosphere is much more re - laxed than in fashionable resorts. For those seeking more tranquil be - aches and turquoise waters, the ne - arby islands are an excellent cho - ice. Capri is the most famous and is synonymous with glamour, whi - le Ischia entices with its hot springs and slower pace of life. Prochida, the smallest island in the bay, has beco - me a favourite among travellers see - king a more authentic experience of southern Italy. Of course, it is easy to travel from Naples to the famous Amalfi Coast, where towns are perc - hed on cliff edges and roads follow the sea like a picture postcard. But Amalfi is a story in itself... AMALFI - Where everything carries the fragrance of lemon Here the roads unwind slowly. Cur - ve by curve, view by view. And every time you think you’ve seen the most beautiful scene, the next one appe - ars: water in colours that seem unre - al, somewhere between cobalt and

turquoise, and a sea-scented dish of pasta alle vongole, with clams. This is la dolce vita, or simply the Amal - fi Coast! No, this isn’t a single destination or a single village, but rather a series of moments connected by a road that defies logic – narrow, winding and dramatic, stuck to the cliffs that rise above the sea. Driving that road is an experience in its own right: lemons literally hang above your head, the sun reflects off the rocks and the sal - ty air enters through open windows. Towns line up like photo frames, ea - ch with its own rhythm. Ravello is the first break from the co - ast. Situated high above the sea, its gardens seem to levitate and its villas still remember centuries of art and the summer breaks of the aristocra - cy. Everything in Praiano is tranqu - il, leisurely and more local, as this for - mer fishing village still preserves its authenticity. Then comes Positano, a veritable postcard that exists in reali - ty. Up or down are the only options in this cliffside village, or vertical city as the locals call it, where every balcony looks like it‘s out of a movie scene. And perhaps cinematography is itse - lf responsible for its reputation. Or li - terature. When John Steinbeck wrote about Positano for Harper‘s Bazaar

back in 1953, he didn’t try to explain it, rather he simply noted that it “bites deep”, or that it leaves a deep impres - sion. His favourite spot there was Le Sirenuse, a former private villa of the Sersale family that was opened to guests in the early 1950s. It is today one of the world’s most recognisa - ble hotels – not just because of the breathtaking view, but because of the feeling that you’re part of something old and elegant. Even if you only drop in for a cocktail, its terrace will rema - in etched in your memory. The most important activity he - re? Serving and patiently nurturing the appetite. Lunches start late and last for a long time. And dinners are even longer. The menu includes sim - ple dishes that depend on one rule: everything must be fresh. At La Ga - vitella, a restaurant and beach club perched above the sea, dishes co - me with views of Positano and Capri. The Pizza Bufalina at Crisci - to‘s is simple and perfect, and serves to prove that southern Italy is still this speciality’s true home. Pored zadivljujuće lepote, ovaj region od oko 50 kilometara poznat je po pomorskoj moći, putevima starim preko 150 godina i statusu omiljene lokacije za snimanje filmova Apart from stunning beauty, this area covering around 50 kilometres is known for its maritime power, roads that are over 150 years old, and its status as a favourite shooting location

ting patiently. You can end the eve - ning at La Caravella, where traditi - on translates into fine dining and where the lemon souffle, better known as “sunshine on a plate”, concludes the story of the flavours of this region. Or we could say that it marks the opening chapter in the story of the lemon, which is a symbol of this region. Large, fragrant Amalfi le - mons grow on the terraces that dot the cliffs, supported by old sto - ne walls. They are used to produce Limoncello, which is ritually sipped ice cold, in small glasses. Lemon pasta, cakes, ice creams – here everything has that mild and refre - shing sourness that defines sum - mer on the coast. And from the coast you can board the small boats that reveal what remains hidden from the roads: small coves, secret beaches and views of the cliffs that appear even more dramatic from the perspe - ctive of the sea. The Grotta dello Smeraldo (emerald grotto) is the

area’s most famous cave, with its green glow, but the most charming spots are in lesser-known places li - ke Marina di Praia cove, where the sea is calmer and the rhythm is even slower. What’s the secret of the Amalfi Co - ast? There is no secret – here it’s all in the atmosphere. In a dress that flutters in the wind, in a wicker basket placed beside a table, in the way the light falls on the rocks in the afternoon. In the notion of dol - ce far niente, sweet idleness, which marks life on the Amalfi Coast.

Svet je već počeo odbrojavanje, a Beograd dočekuje Ekspo za manje od godinu dana The world has already begun the countdown, and Belgrade will welcome Expo in less than a year

SERBIA IN THE RHYTHM OF COUNTING DOWN TO EXPO 2027 T his 15th May, precisely a year ahead of the opening of Expo 2027, Serbia resembled a great stage. From squares and streets nationwide, to the central celebration in Belgrade’s Kalemegdan, music, dance, lights and the energy of thousands of people symbolically marked the start of the final countdown to an event that will bring the world to Belgrade next week. At a time when the global scene is seeking new places to gather and new hubs of international connection, Belgrade is entering the final phase of preparations for the first World Exposition in the history of Southeast Europe. Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from 15th May to 15th August 2027, under the central theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All. Over the course of its 93 days, organisers expect more than four million visitors, 137 international participants and more than 8,000 programmes in the domains of culture, sport, music, innovation and technology. Messages of support have arrived from all over the world: the International Bureau of Expositions, participating countries, embassies, partners, companies and the media jointly marked the beginning of the final year of preparations for this event that connects people, cities, ideas and cultures. At the same time, Belgrade is undergoing one of the biggest urban transformations in its modern history. Construction works on the complex in Surčin are progressing according to planned dynamics, while the handover of pavilion keys to international participants is planned for 1st December 2026. Transport infrastructure, new public facilities and an urban space are being developed in parallel and will live on long after the exposition. New trade fair and congress facilities, an auditorium, international forum for play, educational and creative centres, museum facilities, hotels, residential zones and sports infrastructure are all becoming part of Belgrade’s new identity. The international Expo programme is being developed in parallel with construction works. Standing out in particular is Jaytex, one of the world’s most influential tech and start-up events, with which Serbia is fortifying its position on the map of European centres of innovation. Belgrade is already getting into the swing of major global events. Concerts by Eros Ramazzotti, Lenny Kravitz and Deep Purple, as well as the Cirque du Soleil spectacle, all serve as introductions to the atmosphere that the city is sure to experience during Expo 2027. The world has already started the countdown, and Belgrade will welcome it in less than a year.

Novi sajamski i kongresni kapaciteti, auditorijum, međunarodni forum igre, obrazovni i kreativni centri, muzejski sadržaji, hoteli, rezidencijalne zone i sportska infrastruktura postaju deo novog identiteta Beograda.

mapi evropskih inovacionih centara.

A fter a break of 18 years, Lenny Krav- itz is set to entertain the Belgrade audience on one of the region’s biggest open-air stages. The Ušće concert, scheduled for 17 th June, forms part of his major European tour “Lenny Kravitz Live 2026”, with which this legendary musician is continuing the great creative momentum. The concert is organized by Skymusic and the audience can expect a true rock music spectacle under an open sky, with Kravitz’s recognisable combination of funk and soul. The set list will include hits like Are You Gonna Go My Way, Fly Away and Ameri- can Woman, as well as songs from his new- er albums that serve to confirm that Lenny isn’t a nostalgic performer, but rather an art- ist who continues to push the boundaries. He is well remembered by the Belgrade pub- lic with his 2008 concert at the Belgrade Arena still remembered as being among the top performances of that era, thanks to his enormous energy and almost hyp- notic connection with the audience. And the atmosphere will be even stronger this time around: the Ušće confluence, a sum- mer evening, and one of the last true rock superstars.
