ER SRBIJA POSLE VIŠE OD TRI DECENIJE PONOVO LETI ZA TORONTO / AIR SERBIA RESUMES TORONTO FLIGHTS AFTER MORE THAN THREE DECADES
T he ceremonial send-off for the inaugural flight from Belgrade to Toronto was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Embassy of Canada in the Republic of Serbia, Air Serbia representatives and numerous partners, associates and media. “After more than three decades, we are once again introducing a direct air route between Belgrade and Toronto, which represents a significant symbolic and strategic advance for our company. Toronto is our third destination in North America, alongside New York and Chicago, further strengthening our intercontinental presence and contributing to the development of Belgrade as an important hub connecting Europe and North America,” said Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek. The new route is particularly significant for the Serbian diaspora, given the large community of people of Serbian origin living in Toronto, and addresses the longstanding need for a direct air link between the two cities. “This route connects not only two countries, but also families, communities and cultures. At the same time, it enables the stronger development of business and tourism activity, as well as convenient onward connections for passengers from Canada to numerous destinations across the region and Europe via Belgrade,” added Marek. Strong passenger interest and high cabin load factors on flights confirm that this is an important and carefully considered strategic decision that will contribute to strengthening Serbia’s connections with North America. Air Serbia continues to expand its destination network and strengthen its position on the global market, while simultaneously contributing to Serbia’s economic and tourism development.

S večanom ispraćaju inauguracionog leta iz Beograda za Toronto prisustvovali su predstavnici Vlade Srbije, Ambasade Kanade u Srbiji, predstavnici Er Srbije, kao i brojni partneri, saradnici i mediji. – Posle više od tri decenije ponovo uvodimo direktnu avio-liniju između Beograda i Toronta, što predstavlja značajan simbolički i strateški iskorak za našu kompaniju. Toronto je naša treća destinacija u Severnoj Americi, uz Njujork i Čikago, čime dodatno jačamo naše interkontinentalno prisustvo i doprinosimo razvoju Beograda kao važnog čvorišta koje povezuje Evropu i Severnu Ameriku – izjavio je Jirži Marek, generalni direktor Er Srbije. Nova linija ima poseban značaj za srpsku dijasporu, imajući u vidu da u Torontu živi veliki broj ljudi srpskog porekla, dok potreba za direktnom avio-vezom između dva grada postoji već godinama. – Ova ruta povezuje ne samo dve države već i porodice, zajednice i kulture.
Istovremeno, omogućava snažniji razvoj poslovnih i turističkih tokova, kao i jednostavne konekcije putnicima iz Kanade ka brojnim destinacijama u regionu i Evropi preko Beograda – dodao je Marek. Veliko interesovanje putnika i dobra popunjenost putničke kabine na letovima potvrđuju da je reč o važnoj i promišljenoj strateškoj odluci, koja će doprineti jačanju povezanosti Srbije sa Severnom Amerikom. Er Srbija nastavlja da razvija svoju mrežu destinacija i da unapređuje svoju poziciju na globalnom tržištu, istovremeno doprinoseći ekonomskom i turističkom razvoju Srbije.
