that night.” The burglary took place in a second- floor apartment located over the Zip Printing office on Giroux Street in Rock- land. The woman and child were away for the Thanksgiving long weekend but a friend was checking on the premises ev- ery day. All was in order in the apartment on Sun- day at 9 p.m. when the friend last checked the place. The woman came home in the mid-afternoon Thanksgiving Monday to pick up an item for the family supper. She found the apartment ransacked with vari- ous items strewn about on the floor.
Police sent over a forensics expert to dust for fingerprints and collect other crime scene evidence. They are now wait- ing for a complete list of missing items. So far the woman has confirmed that her laptop and desktop computer setup are both gone. The desktop computer hard drive contained irreplaceable fam- ily photos. Also missing is a Wii electronic game set, some pieces of jewellery, a bag of used clothing destined for the thrift shop, and a collection of Barbie dolls and related items, totaling at least 50 pieces. Anyone with information on the bur- glary can call the Rockland OPP station.
