From Our President
Greetings CTD travelers, I am happy and honored to return to Country Travel Discoveries as President. I first came to Milwaukee from Germany to attend graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earning both an MA in English and an MBA with emphasis
in Finance, Global Strategy, and Entrepreneurship. A start-up internship led to my first full-time role, which in turn prepared me to contribute to the launch of Country Travel Discoveries in 2012 with founder and retired President Steve Uelner, Director of Operations and retired Vice President Nan Delwiche, and several former World Wide Country Tours colleagues. I am very excited to return to Country Travel Discoveries. Throughout the years, I have stayed in touch with Steve and Nan; I was “following” CTD. Returning as President truly feels like coming home. One of the great strengths of CTD has always been our dedication to creating handcrafted, experience-rich itineraries, and that work begins long before a tour ever departs. Our Tour Planning team is constantly on the road, scouting destinations through what we affectionately call “dry labs”. In just the past few months, and continuing into early 2026, they have explored or will explore
Incoming President Matthias Jonas with Steve Uelner, Founder and Retired President
Iowa, Costa Rica, New York City, Ontario, Arizona, England, Ireland, South Carolina, Utah, California, and Morocco. These journeys help us refine every detail, discover new stories, and ensure that each CTD tour reflects the creativity and care our travelers expect. As we look ahead, I would be delighted to have you join me personally on our Old-World Christmas Cruise & Tour (page 21), sailing December 6-15, 2026. This magical journey visits some of Europe’s most enchanting holiday destinations: Heidelberg’s Baroque Old Town and famous Heidelberg Castle, Strasbourg’s half-timbered lanes, the lakeside beauty of Lucerne and Lugano, the elegance of Milan, and more. I cannot wait to share these experiences with our valued guests, to raise a warm holiday toast together, and to celebrate the joy of travel in some of the most festive places on earth. I truly hope you will join me on this unforgettable Christmas adventure, or one of our many other exciting tours coming up in 2026 and 2027.

Traveler FAQ CAN I RECEIVE HELP WITH AIRFARE?
Let our in-house Air Desk assist you with flights to your domestic tours! For just $50/person, we’ll find the best fares and routes for your trip. WHAT DOES INTERNATIONAL AIRFARE LOOK LIKE? International tours include group airfare from the United States. You can also book CTD’s land-only price which allows you to secure your own flights to/from the destination. For flight assistance, please contact our Air Desk. WHAT DOES DOMESTIC AIRFARE LOOK LIKE? Domestic tours typically start at an airport hotel. If you are flying in, just take the hotel’s complimentary airport shuttle. If you’re driving to the starting hotel, CTD typically offers complimentary parking for your car throughout the duration of your tour. HOW LARGE ARE THE TOUR GROUPS? Most tours max at 44 travelers (excluding cruises and other specialty experiences). Travelers quickly become friends at a Welcome Dinner that kicks off every tour. WHO WILL LEAD THE TOUR? Domestic tours are led by a friendly, knowledgeable CTD Tour Director while international tours include a CTD Tour Director AND a Local Tour Director. This helps us provide truly unique, personal, and safe experiences for our travelers.

Why Travel with CTD
Superior INCLUDED VALUE: • Quality hotel accommodations • Delicious meals as specified in the itinerary • Professional and knowledgeable Tour Director • Comfortable and modern transportation • Luggage handling at most hotels • Fees and tips for included attractions and meals • Government imposed taxes and fees
OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH ITINERARIES CTD’s diligent team of experts scout unique locations that you can’t go to on your own. We avoid crowded tourist traps and navigate the often-forgotten back roads to provide authentic, hard-to-find, local destinations. We create travel experiences that are refreshingly real and provide our travelers with authentic interactions with local experts such as Peter MacDonald, one of the last surviving WWII Navajo “code talkers.” Experts like Peter are not in the tour business, but rather a friend we have created through our many years of travel that we get to share with you! RIGOROUSLY SELECTED VENDORS Simply put, we only use vendors that we would want our family to use while on vacation. Our team chooses quality hotel accommodations that are clean, safe, and convenient. Our motor coach and restaurant vendors also must meet similarly strict criteria for use. METICULOUS PREPARATION FROM EXPERIENCED STAFF CTD’s staff has decades of combined experience in the travel industry and we work tirelessly to provide an enjoyable, informative, and safe vacation for our travelers. One of the best parts about Country Travel Discoveries is our staff and the dedication they put into building tours. We invest in scouting trips to get first hand experience planning out tours—we’re always either out traveling to a destination or speaking with local contacts on the ground. That means we don’t get lost, our vendors personally know us, and our routes provide the best travel experiences. DISTINGUISHED PARTNERSHIPS We’re proud to partner with some distinguished publications and organizations, including Our Iowa Magazine , Our Wisconsin Magazine , Annie’s Publications, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and Green Bay Botanical Gardens… just to name a few. We also are incredibly honored to partner with Sunrise Tours based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Famously Friendly Travelers
Our vendors routinely tell us that Country Travel Discoveries has the nicest travelers around… and we agree! We are fortunate to have such kindhearted and likeminded folks who vacation with us. We are intentional about creating opportunities for our travelers to get to know each other while on tour. For example, our trips start with a warm Welcome Dinner so we can travel as friends… it’s a CTD tradition! Plus, compared to many competitors, our smaller tour groups really bring people together. CTD is honored to have travelers who vacation with us year after year… sometimes 10, 20, or even 40 times. With a 98% customer satisfaction rate, almost all of our customers say they would tour with us again (the remaining 2% is often due to “retiring” from travel.) So come join our
“CTD Family” and see what all the excitement is about!
BOTH enjoy $100.00 OFF a current or future CTD tour!
When your friend makes a reservation, you will each receive a one-time $100.00 credit—and you do not need to travel together! Solos SHARE PROGRAM CTD welcomes solos on all tours. We would be happy to “pair up” solo travelers of the same gender, qualifying you both for the per person double occupancy price. Just let us know that you would like a roommate at least 100 days before departure and we will make a match. If we cannot match you with a roommate before final payment, you travel at the double occupancy rate! *Offer not available on cruises and some international tours, cancellation policies and penalties still apply. RYAN INMAN: Groups Coordinator England & Scotland Being from England, this tour feels deeply personal to me, and it’s exactly why I believe it’s an experience you simply cannot miss. These places aren’t just stops on an itinerary—they’re the places that shaped my childhood, my memories, and my love for home. Standing inside
and the incredible Military Tattoo, provides a finale that stays with you.
wandered through peaceful gardens that felt like secret sanctuaries from the lively city outside its walls. In Casablanca, I discovered a more modern city filled with a personal tour highlight, visiting Rick’s Café. Here, I stepped into my favorite film and even whispered to myself “Play it again, Sam” as I listen to As Time Goes By played live on the piano. Experiencing the sites and highlights of Colorful Morocco firsthand to put the finishing touches on this new itinerary makes me more confident than ever that CTD guests will fall in love with this vibrant land! x LANEY LOVELL: Tour Planning Team Lead Sights and Sounds of the Danube I recently had the opportunity to explore the country of Slovakia, and it wasn’t just the beautiful scenery that stayed with me; it was the warmth of the people who bring this country to life. From breathtaking natural landscapes to locals proudly sharing traditions and guides speaking about their heritage with heartfelt enthusiasm, every interaction felt genuine.
These are the moments that make this journey truly unmissable—for me, and for anyone who wants to experience the heart of England and Scotland. x LAURA VECITIS: Senior Tour Planner Colorful Morocco Visiting Morocco truly felt like the adventure of a lifetime. Westminster Abbey or looking up at Big Ben always reminds me how powerful and alive our history truly is.
Stonehenge, Highclere Castle, and the Roman Baths are the landmarks I grew up hearing about, and seeing them in person still gives me chills. As we move north, the charm of Stratford- upon-Avon and the fun, vibrant spirit of Liverpool feel like stepping into the soul of England. And the Lake District—honestly one of my favorite places in the world— offers a peaceful beauty that’s impossible to describe until you’re there. Crossing into Scotland brings its own magic. Blair Castle, Urquhart Castle, and the mystery of Loch Ness feel straight out of a storybook. And Edinburgh, with its castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia,
