This morning, we depart the enchanted forests of Sequoia for the majesty of Yosemite. Together we’ll experience the Yosemite History Center and hear about the early days of protecting Yosemite as the country’s first State Park—eventually becoming a National Park. Then check in for an extended 3-night stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge, with nearby access to stunning views, hiking trails, dining facilities, and the park’s free shuttle. Join an evening walk through the valley with your Tour Director to catch the last daylight glimmering off of the towering granite. B, L DAY 5: YOSEMITE VALLEY Today we take a guided open-air tram tour of Yosemite Valley for an overview of all there is to see and do in the jewel of the Sierra Nevada. After lunch at the historic Ahwahnee Hotel, spend the afternoon exploring Yosemite by foot or utilizing the convenient park shuttle. Then venture on your own or join your Tour Director to visit the Yosemite Museum, Welcome Center, Indian Village of Ahwahnee, and Ansel Adams Gallery. B, L DAY 6: GLACIER POINT
Walk through the famous Sequoia National Park
You’re in for a real treat today as we journey up from the valley floor to Glacier Point—3,200 feet above the lodge below. Here we will savor Yosemite’s most awe-inspiring views of Half Dome, El Capitan, and Nevada Falls. Feeling extra adventurous? Journey on an optional hike down the iconic Four Mile Trail (actually 4.7 miles) and enjoy stunning views of Yosemite Valley all the way back to the lodge. B, D DAY 7: SUNRISE/FRESNO Join your Tour Director for an optional early morning excursion to iconic “Tunnel View” for a sunrise we promise you’ll never forget. Then spend your final morning in Yosemite taking it all in. Enjoy one last hike of your choosing, or relax along the peaceful Merced River beneath towering cliffs. Later this evening, we’ll travel to Fresno for a farewell dinner to share our vacation memories before our departure home tomorrow.
