Garbage fire no laughing matter
St-Isidore | Police have a burning desire to find out why two teenage girls thought it would be fun to set fire to the garbage cans at the St-Isidore Arena. A call from the fire department to the OPP found Const. Dominique Sauvé at the arena just after 10:30 p.m. Aug. 15. Two garbage
cans standing outside next to the arena were on fire. One of the cans was standing close enough to leave black scorch marks on the exterior brick wall. Damage is esti- mated at $1300. Witnesses reported seeing two giggling girls running away from the scene. Police
have arrested two girls, ages 15 and 16, both residents of The Nation municipal- ity, and charged them with mischief under $5000 value. They are scheduled for first appear- ance on the charges in provincial court in L’Orignal Sept. 26.
