Canal Capers! Industrial impact

FIELDWORK Awright our kid? Yow goin’ up the cut? [Google translate: Friendly Black Country greeting – Are you ok and shall we go to the canal?]. A bit of local dialect for you because our fearless young explorers just had a whirlwind adventure through time! As part of their History and Geography topics, children had the incredible opportunity to take part in workshops that delved into the role of Black Country canals during The Industrial Revolution. These workshops were designed to give our budding historians a deeper understanding of the impact canals had on this transformative period of history. From the bustling trade routes to the innovative engineering marvels, the children got a taste of life in the past. But that's not all! The excitement didn't end with the workshops. Our intrepid adventurers also hopped aboard a boat for a thrilling canal trip that perfectly complemented their newfound knowledge. It was a hands-on experience, as the children navigated the waterways, imagining themselves as part of history. They witnessed first-hand the importance of canals in transporting goods and connecting communities.

Well done, kids, for diving headfirst into history and geography!
