Fire! Y4 Safety workshop
SAW Year 4 were fired up with excitement when the heroes from Oldbury Fire Station dropped by for a special visit! The firefighters chatted with the class about fire safety, road safety, and even how to stay safe around water. Everyone was shocked to see a dramatic video showing how quickly a fire can spread — in just three minutes, a whole bedroom was filled with smoke and flames! The crew explained why having a smoke alarm at home is vital and promised to help anyone who doesn’t have one. Before heading back to the station, the firefighters shared top safety tips: keep doorways clear, close your doors at night, stay low in smoke, and always shout “FIRE!” instead of “help!”. It was a visit that really sparked our learning — and reminded us all how to stay safe!
