Maps! Y6 Workshop.
GEOGRAPHY Abbey’s Year 6 took over the hall and transformed it into a hub of global discovery as pupils, parents and carers came together for a vibrant workshop with a twist. Instead of drills, families had dived into creative projects—designing colourful maps, tracing family trees, and crafting eye-catching posters linked to countries close to their hearts. The large hall had buzzed with conversation as generations worked side by side, sharing stories, skills and a sense of pride in their heritage and interests. From detailed lineages to beautifully labelled maps, the results had been as impressive as they were personal. Staff had hailed the event as a huge success, celebrating how it strengthened geography knowledge while bringing the school community closer together. It was teamwork at its finest—with learning brought to life beyond the classroom walls. Thanks to Mrs. Falconer for the story and Miss Shaw for the pictures.
