THE

Y1 Langar! Y1 trip.

SIKH KINDNESS Year 1 visited the local Gurdwara as part of their learning about the Sikh religion. The visit brought their classroom studies to life, giving pupils a first-hand experience of a Sikh place of worship. During the trip, the children explored key beliefs and values of Sikhism, learning about respect, equality, and community. They spent time in the calm and reflective Prayer Hall, where they observed how Sikhs worship and gathered a deeper understanding of the faith. A highlight of the visit was the Langar, where pupils tasted freshly prepared food and learned about the importance of sharing meals with others, regardless of background. The experience clearly made an impact. Mishael (1P) said: “I really liked spending time in the prayer hall and the food in the Langar was lovely!” Staff praised the visit as a fantastic, hands-on learning opportunity that the children will remember.

Thanks to Mrs. Phillips for the story.
