We’re all tired. We all have the same 24 hours in the day. YES, some people have much more physically demanding jobs and lives than others, BUT don’t let tiredness be the roadblock to better health. In fact, exercise can help with that, it’s one of the many proven benefits. Exercising and increasing your heart rate releases endorphins which in turn, raises your energy levels.

A 20 minute workout even when you’re a little tired is better than no workout. And you’ll feel so much better when you’re done!

Take a walk around the neighborhood, a 20 minute run on the treadmill, a HIIT circuit at home, a 10 minute ab workout…just move your body for a little bit! I CAN’T/DON’T WANT TO GO TO THE GYM AND EXERCISING AT HOME IS POINTLESS Wrong! Don’t underestimate the power of a good home workout! But how do you get motivated to exercise at home?

Plan and schedule your workouts Create a dedicated space in your house for working out Get dressed as if you were going to the gym or to a class Do it with a friend (you can also do it through FaceTime) Show up! The hardest part is showing up, everything after is cake!

I HAVE NO MOTIVATION TO WORK OUT ALONE Although you’ll often find groups of people at the gym socializing like they’re at happy hour more than exercising, exercising can be so rewarding when done alone.

Due to COVID-19, I know a lot of people no longer have access to group classes, a gym, face to face time with trainers or gym dates with friends.

BUT, you don’t have to be completely, alone. There are ways you can motivate yourself to workout alone, but feel less alone! Let me explain…

Video call a friend: As I mentioned above, if you had a gym buddy, just plan out a time to workout together through FaceTime or Zoom Find an online community: There are tons of Facebook and Instagram groups where people share their journeys and experiences with likeminded individuals on the same path. Give yourself goals and rewards: TRY to work out alone. Maybe you’ll see that it’s not so bad when you try it! You won’t know unless you try! Hold yourself accountable for your goals, and when you achieve them reward yourself. Track your progress: Only you can be accountable for your own progress, and when you start seeing the results, it’ll be enough motivation to stay motivated to workout alone AND at home.
