FRINGE 2017

EDINBURGH FESTIVAL by Theatre Weekly. The production was adapted and directed by Ollie Norton-Smith (04-15) and features Alex Holley (11-16) and Hamish Alleynians from seven school years in three productions.

Dulwich had another spectacular year at the Edinburgh Fringe in September with current pupils and OAs involved with productions on and off stage. The Young Pleasance Show Curse of Cranholme Abbey played to packed houses and earned five star reviews from critics and audiences alike. The production was shortlisted for a Pick of the Fringe award by the website Arts Award and given a special mention as a company to watch by The 730 Review. Featuring Cameron Forbes (08-17), Darrius Kudiabor Thompson (10-17), Freddie Maher (10-17), Dan Norton-Smith (06-17), Frank Kauer, Jack Ramsay and Matt Tyson. The show was stage managed by Tom Downie (11-16) and sound designer was Oscar Maguire (08-15). The XYP company this year, Spies Like Us, staged a sensational adaptation of Our Man in Havana which sold out its entire run and was garlanded with five star reviews and the accolade of Best Fringe Debut

Lloyd Barnes (09-16] in the company. Oscar Maguire was once again sound designer.

Another show with a clear Dulwich stamp on it was the Incognito revival of All Quiet on the Western Front which was staged for a limited run following its New York transfer last year. The show featured Angus Doughty (06-13), George John (08-13), Charlie MacVicar (06-13), Alex Maxwell (08-13) and Joe Taylor (07-14) with Ollie Norton-Smith (04-15) as assistant director on the original production Oscar Maguire was sound designer.
