Toute personne qui souhaite obtenir des renseignements sur le sentier récréatif de Prescott-Russell peut maintenant trouver tout ce qu’elle veut savoir sur un tout nouveau site Web. «La valeur de ce site Web, a déclaré Serge Joly, porte-parole de la Société du sentier récréatif de Prescott-Russell (SRPR), est qu›il informera les gens de Prescott-Rus- sell, surtout ceux qui n›ont jamais utilisé le sentier auparavant.» Avant la création de son propre site Web pour le sentier récréatif de Prescott-Russell, le groupe à but non lucratif dépendait d›un lien sur le site Web des Comtés unis de 1SFTDPUU3VTTFMM $613 QPVS GPVSOJSEFT SFOTFJHOFNFOUTTVSMFTFOUJFS-FT$613B conclu un contrat de location avec VIA Trail pour l’utilisation de l’ancienne voie ferrée comme site de sentier récréatif. La SRPR a depuis reçu une subvention de 20 000 $ de l’Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario (AFO) par le biais du programme Fonds d’aide et de relance pour entreprises et organismes de Sud Ontario (FAREOSO). Ce programme, parrainé par l’Agence fédé- rale de développement économique pour le Sud de l’Ontario (FedDev), soutient les entreprises et les groupes francophones à but non lucratif. La subvention permet de créer le propre site Web du SRPR pour informer les rési- dents et les visiteurs sur le sentier et aider à promouvoir l’utilisation du sentier et les événements spéciaux liés au sentier PR. .NF +PMZBTPVMJHOÊRVF MFTJUF8FC contribuera également à promouvoir «un sentiment d’appartenance» chez les résidents de Prescott-Russell à l’égard du sentier, de ses avantages pour les loisirs locaux et la santé physique, de sa valeur pour l’économie touristique et de son rôle dans la sensibilisation et l’appréciation du patrimoine naturel de la région. L’année dernière, d’après les statistiques recueillies dans le cadre d’un programme de surveillance, plus de 56 000 personnes ont utilisé le sentier récréatif de janvier à fin novembre.
