T o mark Children‘s Week, the national airline, Air Serbia, organised a special trip for 15 primary school pupils from Kosovo, who had the opportunity to fly in an aeroplane for the first time in their lives. The activity was organised in partnership with the Inclusive Serbia Centre (Centar inkluzivna Srbija), with which Air Serbia established cooperation during the „Inclusive Serbia“ art competition. The Centre is recognised across Serbia for this initiative, as it has engaged a large number of primary schools that actively participate in creating an inclusive Serbia. After arriving in Niš from Kosovska Mitrovica, the children took an Air Serbia flight to Belgrade, where they were welcomed at Nikola Tesla Airport by representatives of the national airline, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, and the Inclusive Serbia Centre. The Radisson Collection Old Mill Hotel Belgrade supported the project by providing accommodation for the children during their stay in Belgrade. During the visit, the children had the opportunity to learn about the world of aviation and enjoy an unforgettable experience, whilst members of Air Serbia‘s flight and cabin crew introduced them to their jobs and revealed what life above the clouds looks like. The national airline also prepared special gifts for their youngest guests as a memento of their first flight. „We are exceptionally pleased to have given the children from Kosovo and Metohija the opportunity to take their first aeroplane flight. A first flight is an experience remembered for a lifetime, and we are proud that, in partnership with the Inclusive Serbia Centre, we were part of such an important moment. We believe that initiatives just like this contribute to creating a society where every child has the opportunity to gain new experiences, develop their interests, and believe that big dreams are attainable,“ said Bojana Knežević, Air Serbia’s Head of Marketing and Guest Experience.
