Local operators of subsidized housing in the Prescott-Russell region will get a bit of extra financial compensation for their services. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell council (UCPR) approved a recommendation from administration for a one-dollar increase, in the per diem subsidy that domiciliary hos- tel operators receive from the counties, for each person living in a designated subsidized housing unit. /JDPMF/PSNBOEBOE/PSNBOE5SFNCMBZ of the Prescott-Russell Private Residence Association (PRPRA) presented counties council with the subsidy increase request, during the May 9 committee of the whole session. The PRPRA asked for a $1.50 increase in the per diem. The association represents 34 operators of subsidized housing facilities in the region, whose clients are mostly seniors and others living on fixed incomes. «reasonable» within the limits of her depart- ment’s 2018 operation budget. The UCPR and PRPRA could then meet for later discus- sions about including a further fifty-cent increase to the per diem in the 2019 budget. Counties council accepted
Comtois-Lalonde’s suggestion for a one- dollar increase to the PRPRA, per diem for its members, with the increase taking effect this July. But first, council has to pass a resolution authorizing the increase, during its regular session later in May.
