IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! To all graduates and former students— Please consider and plan to attend the Annual Alumni Homecoming to be held on November 2nd and 3rd, 1962. More in­ formation to be available at a later date. Catherine Ross ’42 is working with the Navajo Gospel Mission, Inc., and is prais­ ing God for the children who attend the released time Bible classes. Also connected with this mission are Berlyn and Edith (Menzer ’ 14) Stokely, Directors Emeritti; and Fred ’49 and Evelyn (Boswell ’47) Gleason, who have been holding Bible School at Sand Springs. Arthur ’59 and Ellen (Addington ’60) Johnson, Canoga Park, California: “ I was ordained as a Conservative Baptist minis­ ter on December 4 . . . in Tucson. We are planning on departing for Brazil on August 16th for language study and the teaching ministry.” Dick and Barbara (Miller ’53 ,’54) Gibbs, Brazil, South America: “A national pas­ tor said to us, ‘I am very happy that your mission has sent you and is sending others to help us start Baptist churches in many large and progressive cities.’ Pray for this young pastor and the peo­ ple.” Leonard ’51 and Imogene Booker, Quito, South America: “ In April we left Costa Rica to go to Quito to work with HCJB. We covet your prayers.” Virgil ’AA Terry and family, California: “ In 1960 we accepted the call to Happy Camp Community Church . . . The Sun­ day school average has increased from 135 to 165. I am also ministering at the San Quentin Honor Camp, which is eight miles away. Several have been saved. The former pastor was Roy Sprague ’54, who is engaged in evangelistic work.” Timothy ’33 and Helen Pietsch, Tokyo Bible Center: “ April marked twenty-five years since I left the United States to come to Japan as a missionary . . . Radio reaches into the small towns and villages. . . . Our Tokyo Bible Church continues to grow and the Pastor and Mrs. Paul Suzuki are doing a wonderful job. The church now is praying for and planning for a large new building . . . The Kitami Bible Church was founded last November in a town in which there was no church.” Faith (Hollingsworth ’21) and Don Turner, Quito: “ The Lord undertook in a wonderful way when He sent me home last October . . . I met a friend in .Pana­ ma . . . who asked her church to pray . . . and attending the meeting was the pastor of a church whose missionary bud­ get was complete with $1,000 left over. . . . We received $500 of this . . . God obligated me to stay in the vicinity of a forthcoming Literature Conference . . . and within three hours He made $1500 available for our courses.”
