6) Extinguish
The suppression agent will contain and possibly extinguish a fire. However, due to the volatility of
materials trapped in the filters, they may reignite. It is recommended that Safety Personnel using personal
protective equipment immediately shut down main power to the unit and remove the filters from the plant
environment. Once the suppression agent generator has been activated, power can be turned off. When
the Suppression agent is triggered, the fire bottle indicator will light up. It can be cleared by pressing the
FSS Reset button.
NOTE:
Opening the door will allow the fire suppressing agent to escape from the
unit and allow additional oxygen to enter the system.
6) Inspect
The suppression agent leaves a dust layer. The filters can then be inspected for damage and further
extinguished as required. Some or all filters will most likely need to be replaced. Please inspect your unit
for possible damage before reinstalling undamaged filters.
7) Restart
Turn the key switch to the off position to temporarily deactivate the FSS to prevent initial false alarms due
to contamination beyond the filters. Turn on the main power and cycle the unit power disconnect from off
to on. This will reset the system. Check to be sure the unit’s smoke detectors are showing green fla shing
lights. Run the unit for a short period of time to purge any residual smoke. Clean the smoke detector with
compressed air if required. Once the unit has been cleaned, the key switch can be turned to the on
position to reactivate the FSS and allow proper detection. This may take several cleanings.
8) Reset
The Fire Suppression Screen can be reset by power cycling the unit. The “FB Released” notification can
be reset by holding A and B, and press OK. It is recommended to reset the “FB Released” notifica tion on
the display after replacing the Fire Bottle.
9) Install the Replacement Generator
In the filter compartment, disconnect the suppression agent generator and remove it from its mount.
Install the new generator in its place and re-terminate the control wiring on the new generator. Clear
the “FB Released” notification by holding A and B, and press OK.
