Leadership in Action – AUNZ English – 201711

we drew closer the tiny sand island of Nukubati came into view. What a vision: 50 metres of pure white sand surrounded by crystal blue ocean, topped with glamping gazebos; at the water’s edge, stand up paddle boards, high-powered jet skis and a motor boat equipped for parasailing! The best part, all this was just for us! This activity created life-long memories as we relaxed and took advantage of the amazing opportunity. Senior Director 8 Carole Sellar took to the skies parasailing and shouted at the top of her voice, “I’m going National Director!” What a wonderful goal made in an unforgettable idyllic location! As our time on Nukubati drew to a close we headed for our final destination, the ultra-

enrolee, the trailblazer, Executive Director 2 Sharlene Lesa. Their presentation was truly insightful! They explained in great detail just how important it is to “Create” leadership by making absolutely certain new leaders get to Director 3 in their first 60 days. That evening we enjoyed local delicacies and entertainment at the Fijian cultural evening – including the world- famous fire walking! After a good rest we awoke the next day and set out upon an adventure that was the highlight of the whole event. We headed back to the ocean and boarded a high powered motor cruiser. After about 50 minutes, crashing through the waves a tiny spec appeared on the horizon. As

exclusive Sheraton on Toko Riki island. We were greeted by a welcoming party singing island songs as we made our way from the beach to a simply stunning hotel. That evening we relaxed by the infinity pool as we watched the sunset. Our farewell dinner that night was a sumptuous feast and we were entertained by a choir of local Fijian school children. The benefits of achieving Senior Director are life changing and with event like SSLC it gives you access to special experiences that money cannot buy. Set your goal for Senior Director and don’t stop until you get there! Let me tell you - the feeling of winning far out-weighs the fear of hard work!”
