If you’ve ever lost your wallet or purse, your main worry might be that you’ll never get it back and that you’ll have to cancel your credit cards. Even if someone returns your belongings to you, the first thing you might do is check to see if anything is missing. But there are still honest people in this world, like 17-year-old Adrian Rodriquez. Rodriquez found a purse in the parking lot of a grocery store, and instead of bringing the bag inside and hoping a worker would contact the owner, he decided to hand-deliver it himself. When Rodriquez arrived at his destination, the purse’s owner, Eliana Martin, wasn’t home, so he left the handbag with her roommate, Melina Marquez. Once Martin got home and found out someone had retrieved her purse, she wanted to thank the individual in person. So, she looked at her Ring camera and was in awe that it was a young high school student. To find out who Rodriquez was and how she could contact him, Martin shared her experience on social media, hoping the teen would find the post. Fortunately, Martin’s strategy worked, and she got in contact with Rodriquez.

$20,000. In July, Rodriquez met Martin and announced the money she raised in honor of his honesty. Rodriquez was both happy and shocked at the lengths Martin went to show her gratitude. “My mom always told me since I was little to always do the right thing, even when nobody’s around. I didn’t expect nothing [in return],” Rodriquez told 10News. It’s amazing to see how one act of kindness can make a world of difference for the person giving the gesture and receiving it.
